Meeting Swampy.

We have been and seen the man-who-can at the allotments, a very nice man. It was tipping it down with rain and the land was sodden.
The plot is an end plot, and it does indeed "need a bit of work". It is difficult to tell where the plot ends and the field begins...if it wasn't for a previous (aborted) attempt at making raised beds by a previous owner, it may have been impossible.
Still, we waited 3 years, we're not about to give up now.
We've only just begun...

Hurray!

We have been waiting for an allotment in our village for almost 3 years, and today we have been offered one. We will meet the man-who-can on Saturday and he will show us around.
Apparently, it "needs a lot of work..."
